Northern Ireland's Newest Rollercoaster Has Just Opened at Curry's Fun Park, Portrush

If you're planning a trip to the North Coast this summer, there's a brand-new reason to visit Curry's Fun Park in Portrush.

Northern Ireland's newest rollercoaster has officially opened, bringing an exciting new thrill ride to one of the country's most iconic seaside amusement parks. The Spinning Coaster is now open daily and promises plenty of twists, turns and unexpected spins for thrill-seekers of all ages.

The Visit List was among the first to experience the new attraction, and we've captured the full ride so you can see exactly what it's’s like before you visit.

Where is the New Rollercoaster?

The Spinning Coaster is located at Curry's Fun Park, situated on Eglinton Street in Portrush, just a short walk from the town's famous beaches, harbour and restaurants.

Located around one hour from Belfast, Curry's Fun Park has been entertaining generations of families for decades and remains one of Northern Ireland's best-loved seaside attractions.

Whether you're visiting Portrush for the day or enjoying a weekend on the Causeway Coast, the new coaster is a fantastic addition to your itinerary.

What Makes the Spinning Coaster Different?

Unlike a traditional rollercoaster, every car on the Spinning Coaster rotates freely as it travels around the track.

That means no two rides are ever exactly the same.

As you race around the tight bends and sudden drops, your car spins independently, adding an extra layer of excitement and making every twist feel completely unpredictable.

The ride features:

  • Four-person spinning cars

  • Fast twists and sharp corners

  • Sudden drops and changes of direction

  • A fun, family-friendly thrill suitable for those looking for something more exciting than a traditional fairground ride

It's the perfect mix of thrills without being too extreme, making it a great choice for families, teenagers and anyone looking for a fun adrenaline rush.

A New Chapter for Curry's Fun Park

The new attraction opened in May 2026 and marks one of the biggest investments in Curry's Fun Park in recent years.

Manufactured by Zamperla, the steel spinning coaster stretches for approximately 420 metres, with cars reaching speeds of up to 45 km/h as they weave around the compact track.

The ride is a relocated attraction that has previously operated elsewhere in Europe before finding its new home on the North Coast, where it has been transformed into Northern Ireland's newest rollercoaster.

Its arrival continues Curry's Fun Park's tradition of introducing exciting new attractions while preserving the nostalgic charm that has made the park a favourite destination for generations.

The Perfect Addition to Your North Coast Road Trip

If you're already planning to explore the Causeway Coast this summer, the Spinning Coaster gives you another reason to stop in Portrush.

After taking on the ride, you're only minutes away from some of Northern Ireland's best attractions, including:
