One of Northern Ireland’s most enchanting festive experiences has officially returned - the Lisburn Light Trail at Castle Gardens. This completely free event transforms the historic gardens into a glowing wonderland filled with lights, music, food, and festive atmosphere for the whole family.
It’s one of the biggest Christmas highlights in Lisburn each year - and 2025’s trail is bigger, brighter and more magical than ever.

Step into Castle Gardens as it becomes a sparkling world of light displays, festive installations and glowing pathways. Whether you’re visiting with family, bringing the dog, or stopping by with friends, the trail offers a magical evening out - and it’s all completely free to explore.

Santa’s Grotto
Open Wednesday to Saturday, 4:00pm – 8:30pm

This year, Santa’s Grotto is back and even more inclusive.
Every Thursday throughout December, a BSL Sign Language Interpreter will be available in the grotto, ensuring every child can fully enjoy the experience.
Festive Live Music
Every Wednesday to Saturday (4:00pm – 8:30pm), enjoy live Christmas music on stage, adding even more atmosphere to the trail. From choirs to festive performers, it creates the perfect backdrop for your evening stroll.
Mini Festive Food Village
Open daily from 4:00pm – 8:30pm.
Expect a cosy line-up of festive treats - from hot chocolates and loaded fries to churros, crepes, and more. Perfect for warming up as you wander the lights.
Fun Fair Rides
Ideal for families, the Fun Fair brings even more excitement to the experience. It runs daily throughout the event and is suitable for all ages.
Dog-Friendly
Bring your pups along! The Lisburn Light Trail welcomes well-behaved dogs, making it a lovely evening out for the whole family.
Parking Information
Council car parks in Lisburn are free after 6:00pm
Visitors are encouraged to park considerately due to high demand
Castle Gardens is a short walk from several central car parks
